THE BEAUTY OF LAZIO

Often overshadowed by having Italy’s capital at its core, the region of Lazio is a rugged and beautiful land with many treasures and delights to discover. Famous for its white wines, the many hilltop hamlets and valleys in the Castelli Romani are well worth exploring, while the history of such towns as Latina goes hand in hand with that of Rome since Etruscan times.

ITALY’S CAPITAL

Of course it would be silly to spend a vacation at the Villa Gengi in Ardea without making at least one day-trip to Rome, Italy’s capital and once the centre of history’s most powerful and ruthless civilisation. Today the Eternal City is a vibrant hub of activity, where tourists gaze in awe at such wonders as the Colosseum and the Trevi Fountain and pilgrims visit the Vatican City State.
